The critic and historian Mohammed Elhamzani said that he loved the novel "The Yacoubian Building," indicating that the novel used a different approach than literature. Al-Hamzani added during his dialogue on the program "Al-Shahed" with media personality Dr. Mohammed Al-Baz on "Extra News" channel that the novel is seen as criticizing individuals, and it has been turned into a movie and series and used politically, and it can be objected to or praised.

He emphasized that when politics enters literature, it corrupts it, pointing out that the poet Amal Donqol, in his book "No Reconciliation," is not his strongest work, and people always summarize his works in this book, and in the end literature is not a platform for promoting any religious or right-wing or left-wing political agenda.

Mohammed Elhamzani pointed out that the writer Saadi Youssef has a nice phrase: "The language of literature is poor, so do not bother it with your ideas."

He continued by saying that Islamic and Christian literature has emerged, Gabriel Zaki, and the book "The Testament of the Broken Tablet" talked about the religiousness of literature, and there are now novels with advice in them, confirming that the Muslim Brotherhood are poor in literature and they had one writer, Najib Al-Kilani, who after betraying them wrote Islamic research papers, but why do we use literature as a platform for a religious, political, or social idea?

Mohammed Elhamzani explained that the cultural boom that Egypt witnessed in the 1970s declined after the emergence of magazines that paid more money to intellectuals, noting that money was one of the reasons for corrupting Egyptian intellectuals, leading to a decline in their interest in quality in favor of seeking material gain.

He cited himself as an example, saying that he used to publish in Arabic magazines such as Al-Bayan Kuwaiti and Iraqi Culture, and the first time he received a large salary was in 1978 and it was 33 pounds.
